Flexibility Enhancements of Weather Reporting Systems

Official abstract: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) proposes to revise its regulations to substitute weather reports from the National Weather Service with weather reports prepared by FAA and other sources approved by the Administrator. The National Weather Service no longer provides weather reports in the capacity described in the relevant provisions of the regulations. Therefore, this change is necessary to remove outdated references and to maintain weather awareness in the National Airspace System.
