Official abstract: The Visiting Committee on Advanced Technology (VCAT or Committee) reviews and makes recommendations regarding general policy for the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), an agency within the Department of Commerce (DOC), on its organization, its budget, and its programs, within the framework of applicable national policies as set forth by the President and the Congress. The VCAT will meet on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time and Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The meeting will be held in person, with an option for virtual attendance only for VCAT members and speakers.
